1) Letter from Elizabeth Stradling, St Donats.
Being it was my hard fate to out live Sir Edward
Stradling, I would not willingly suceed him in ? uneasy
way of living which unavoidedly follows an indebted son.
For if preventing of which I do willingly quit claim to
all Sir Edward Stradlings personal estate and do allow
Mr. Samuel Davies to administer if he thinks fit. And as
for my eldest son, I hope none can ? to be guardian to
him besides myself or whom I allow of. I would therefore
desire your favour of it ? to have a permission wherby
Parson Hancoxne may have him to subscribe it when he
comes to Oxon for fear he should fall into ill hands.
Your performance will ? be acknowledged as a favour done.
Your Friend,
ELIZABETH STRADLING
